Canterbury City Centre Parish

St Peters and St Mildreds

Our Mission

St Peter's and St Mildred's are the two parish churches within the City Centre Parish in Canterbury.

Working in partnership our worship is within the Liberal Catholic tradition of the Anglican Church, expressed in our Common Worship celebration of the Eucharist.

The two congregations include people from a wide cross-section of Anglican traditions and of other churches. Through our worship and fellowship we seek to share with others the love of God seen uniquely in Jesus Christ.

Our two medieval church buildings are places of contemporary prayer and worship. As sacred spaces they are wells of the Christian spiritual tradition from which visitors and newcomers to Canterbury can drink deeply.

Whenever possible, from Easter to the end of October, we are open to visitors and those who seek somewhere to be quiet.

We aim to establish links with the local community through, for instance, our programme of student activities, the St Mildred's Club for retired people and the 'Art in St Peter's' project linked with the Marlowe Theatre Corridor Arts.
